Born in Montreal in
February, 1971 four minutes after my sister (I wanted a womb with a
view...). Even at the time of the birth, everyone, including the
doctor, was under the impression that there was only one. But
after my sister was born the doctor said, "Oh my God, there is
another one." And I've been causing people to gasp in disbelief
ever since... |

Grew up in Nova Scotia
in the metropolis of Dartmouth...where the public transit closes at
midnight (did a lot of walking in my youth...) and then moved to
Montreal from 1989-93 to attend
Concordia University. Loved spending
time in my birth city, but not being a local, couldn't stand the
politics, so moved to Toronto (where politics are apparently similar
to furniture selling) and figured I'd stay for about 5 years. 13 years
later and counting, I am reminded of that great salt-of-the-earth
Maritime poet,
Milton Acorn, who said, "Toronto is filled with so much promise,
and it always lets you down." |

Found myself in 1999 with a life
partner, a mortgage, and a child...holy crap where did that all come
from?...and then went to
OISE/UT in 2001 for a teaching degree and an
income to pay for my ever increasing debt. Find myself now with three
kids and still trying to figure out where they come from...I dunno,
I'm thinking women are very strange creatures and that if there is a
God, he is obviously a man for relieving us from childbirth...now if
he could only do something about that death thing... |
